Upset with TAH failure, villagers renovate road

ITANAGAR, Sept 2: Angry with the failure of the construction agencies to continue the Khonsa-Longding Trans Arunachal Highway work, 13 villages responded to the call of the Ranglamja Employment Association (REA) and came out to renovate 25 km stretch of the road on self-help basis on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Advisory member of REA, SephuaWangsu Wangsu said that earlier the Khonsa-Longding road was undertaken by M/s. JKM Enterprises and later by M/s. RonyEnterprise but both the agencies have failed to continue TAH road construction forcing the people of 13 villages from Ranglamja area, 8 villages from Dadam area and people of Longding district to face intolerable problems for last few years.
He appealed to the district Administration and state Govt to initiate immediate action for re-tendering of TAH road from Khonsa to Longding at an early date to lessen the suffering of people.
Kapu Block ZPM Chahwang Lowang said that M/s. MG Contractor Private Limited (MGCPL) is doing tremendous work in Changlang-KhonsaTAH road from Lainwang to Luthong point covering 41 kms within a short period of time and whereas Khonsa-LongdingTAH road was found unattended since last 2 years.
Representing district administration Tirap Additional Deputy Commissioner Techu Aran clarified that one cannot blame the District Administration or concerned public representative for delaying Khonsa-Longding TAH road construction work as it is a purely tender work and contract work have been rewarded based on observation of all official codal formalities.
