Rijiju acknowledges bad road connectivity in West Siang

AALO, Sep 3: Union Minister Kiren Rijuju admitted that road connectivity in West Siang district was at its worse. The union minister observed this during his recent visit to the district.
He visited a few villages in the district, including Beye Ngomdir, Ngomdir, Doji Jeli,Eyi and Logum Jini on September 1 and 2 and addressed a series of public meetings.
Rijiju said the government has already released the second installment of fund for Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) road from Ngomdir to Beye (7 km). He assured to place additional fund during this financial year for road widening and various other purposes related to road construction.
He further assured that the agency concerned will be directed to prepare a DPR for an alternative from Piri Sago to Ngomdir. He, however, said this will take some time for initiation.
Responding to various memoranda submitted by the villagers, he assured to sanction a community dere (hall) during the current financial year at Beye Ngomdir and RCC community Dere at Ngomdir village.
The union minister also laid the foundation stone of Mother’s Vision De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Centre at Hikargumin, Aalo on September 2.
Later, he visited the General Hospital, Aalo where he flagged off an ambulance and inaugurated X-ray machines and other medical equipment provided under the CSR scheme. (DIRPO)
