Never ending problem

In yet another Maoist attack nine personnel of Central Reserve Police Force- CRPF were martyred today in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The CRPF team was reportedly patrolling the area when incident took place. As usual after the incident politicians led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemn incident and extended condolences. This drama has been going on for quite long time. Maoist has been killing jawans with impunity in Naxal infested areas. The maximum number of killings is being reported from Chhattisgarh.
The almost four decade old Naxal movement has pushed the mineral-rich state into a severe crisis. The Maoist problem is not only affecting economic activities in the state but also forcing it to adopt an imbalanced model of growth because of the presence of Naxalites in a majority of the mineral-rich pockets of Chhattisgarh. The Maoist is strong in mineral rich districts and their presence is not allowing development of these districts. Lack of development in Dantewada, Kanker, Bastar, Kawardha, Balrampur, Sarguja and other Naxal-infested districts is clearly visible. The Maoist uses this sentiment to turn tribal against government. The government of India and Chhattisgarh has miserably failed to find lasting solution to Maoist problem. So far the military solution has not yielded any desire result. Because of the lack of proper policy the innocent citizens are suffering. As decades of military battle has not bore any result, the government of India should try some other method to end the Maoist insurgency.
