Negative impact

With each passing days there is growing demand for handing over of the Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) scam case to the CBI. The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) along with TAH affected people from Lower Subansiri district have sought CBI probe. At present investigation is being carried out by Special Investigation Cell (SIC). The SIC have made some arrest while investigating the allegation of corruption in distribution of compensation for the Joram-Koloriang stretch of TAH.
So far they have not made any arrest pertaining to Potin-Bopi TAH and it has raised doubts in the minds of the people. Major allegations of corrupt practice in distribution of compensation have come from Potin-Bopi road. In some instance people who did not own even a single property have also reportedly been paid huge amount of compensation money. It is also alleged that many influential people including powerful political leaders manipulated the whole process and used fraud means to get compensation. Without casting doubt on the integrity of SIC, the CBI will be in better condition to conduct investigation as it is better equipped in terms of technology. Also in recent month state government have transferred number of high profile cases including the mysterious death of former MLA Ngurang Pinch to CBI. Therefore it should exhibit courage and transfer the TAH scam case to CBI. If the people involved in this scam is not punished, then it will demoralize those who have been deprived of their rightful claim. Such situation may have negative impact on future developmental projects.
