Dream for a better Arunachal

Chief Minister Pema Khandu has revealed his dream for a better Arunachal Pradesh. The CM says he wishes to make Arunachal Pradesh a centre for entrepreneurship where youths will become job givers; a tourist and wellness destination; a state with the best health and school facilities; a well-connected state via roadways, highways and airways; energy self-reliant and industry friendly; a corruption-free and crime-free state.
In his Independence Day address, the CM admitted that Arunachal has a large number of educated unemployed youths. In order to tap the youths’ energies, the CM gave emphasis on skill development training for the youths, with the objective to provide high-end employable skill development. He said the government intends to set up seven ultramodern skill development centres in unutilized government buildings in Bomdila, Itanagar, Ziro, Pasighat, Roing, Namsai and Kanubari under PPP mode.
The state government has taken ‘lot of steps in last one year that will drastically change the education scenario in our state’, and also ‘brought massive changes in the way planning is done in education department’, the chief minister said.
We are also given to know that Samast Shiksha Yojana has been launched with an aim to identify critical gaps in the education sector at the district level, while the Dronacharya Gurukul Yojana was introduced to identify talented students in schools and nurture their talent. Various other decisions like scrapping of no-detention policy, introduction of state board exams for class 5 and 8, procurement of books directly from NCERT, creation of 400 posts exclusively for regularization of SSA teachers and decision to start functioning of Sainik School from this academic year were taken by the government.
While the CM appeals one and all to take pledge to serve the state with renewed promise and work towards the ten-point agenda which he outlined for better Arunachal Pradesh, we hope that the government’s determination for transparency and zero tolerance towards corruption reflects in the functioning of all government agencies.
