Alumni demand cadastral map of GHSS

DAPORIJO, Dec 31: Expressing serious concern over the reported encroachment on land belonging to the government higher secondary school (GHSS) here, the school’s alumni association has urged the Upper Subansiri DC to engage a team to prepare a cadastral map of the school, “so that necessary action can be initiated by the authority in this regard.”
In a complaint letter to the DC, the association informed that the quarters of the school’s principal and the vice-principal have been encroached on and the plots allotted to a private individual, compelling the principal to live in a rented house. It claimed that the encroacher has constructed an RCC building on the encroached land.
The association informed the DC that the teachers’ quarters have also been dismantled illegally and an RCC wall has been erected around the encroached land, which it said has created accommodation problems for the teachers, especially those from outside the district.
