Support airport project

Finally there is some positive news on the much awaited Hollongi green field airport project. The first phase of work for construction of runway, watch tower, etc are expected to begin from 1st week of February. This was informed by the officials of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) on Thursday during a meeting called by State Civil Aviation Minister Nakap Nalo to review the progress of the work. The AAI official shared that work is expected to pick progress from April onwards. This is welcome news. The whole state is anxiously waiting for the completion of the green field airport project.
The Union Minister of State (Independent) for Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri had earlier set deadline of March 31, 2022 for the completion of the airport project. It will be a miracle if the airport work is completed on deadline. However the enthusiasm of the AAI official gives hopes that airport will definitely come up at the earliest. The departments like Public Works, Power, PHE&WS, UD & Housing and POWERGRID will also have to play an active role. Their support is very important towards the completion of project. Of all, the role of the people of Hollongi and area around will be critical. Most of the major infrastructure projects in the state have failed due to issues like lack of support from the local populace. Already this airport project has been delayed and the state cannot afford to lose more time. The Itanagar is the only capital in whole of India not to have an airport of its own. Therefore every citizen of state should support the Hollongi green field airport project.
