DNGC organises alfresco theatre

ITANAGAR, 24 Mar: The English department of Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) here organised an alfresco theatre on the Orchid Lawn of the college campus on Thursday.

Second semester BA English students showcased their skills by performing the morality play, The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus. The core course students of the department were divided into five groups, and each group performed one act each from the play.

DNGC Principal Dr MQ Khan applauded the English department for organising the open-air theatrical performance, as well as other activities, to keep the students involved in academics as well as co-curricular activities.

English HoD Prof Nending Ommo said that “the students are bestowed with hidden talents and creativities, but they rarely get the opportunity and exposure to exhibit and manifest their talents.”

“The department of English is trying every possible way to churn the best out of the students in all spheres and make them better humans,” Prof Ommo said.

Assistant Professors Tobom Nyori and Joram Renu also spoke.

The alfresco theatrical performance was backed by English Department Assistant Professors Yitu Murtem, Goli Nyodu, Bomter Dirchi and Tamo Yanga.
