It was ensured that physical distancing was observed during the programmes.<br \/>\nOne NES team, comprising NES general secretary Heri Maring, coordination secretary Techi Tajo, NES Papum Pare unit chairman RK Taj, and others, visited Tarasso, Balijan, Kuchubari, Lenka, Kokila and Hollongi.<br \/>\nAnother NES team, headed by its Papum Pare unit convenor Techi Totu Tara, All Nyishi Youth Association general secretary Bengia Tada, and others, accompanied by CO Marina Siram and police officials, visited Bogoli and Denka villages near Gumto circle.<br \/>\nThe programmes were aimed at reaching out to the people in the rural areas of Arunachal bordering Assam, and to educate and assist them in fighting against Covid-19.<br \/>\nThe NES teams distributed masks and sanitizers to the gaon burahs, and urged them to cooperate with the police and the administration during the lockdown and follow the government&#8217;s guidelines.<br \/>\nThe villagers apprised the teams of their grievances, and the problems being faced by them due to the lockdown.<br \/>\nThe NES teams assured the villagers that the authorities concerned would be made aware of their grievances and needs.<br \/>\nThe NES members appealed to the residents of the foothill areas to report any stranger from the Assam side entering their villages, and to hand over such persons to the police or the local administrative officers, without taking the law into their own hands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, Apr 17: The Nyishi Elite Society (NES) on Friday carried out sensitization programmes in remote foothill villages, bordering Assam, in Papum Pare district.
