{"id":11575,"date":"2017-12-08T00:13:10","date_gmt":"2017-12-07T18:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=11575"},"modified":"2017-12-08T00:13:10","modified_gmt":"2017-12-07T18:43:10","slug":"mp-seeks-survey-to-assess-snow-leopard-population-in-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2017\/12\/08\/mp-seeks-survey-to-assess-snow-leopard-population-in-state\/","title":{"rendered":"MP seeks survey to assess snow leopard population in state"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Dec 7:<\/strong> Member of Parliament, Ninong Ering has urged Union Minister for Environment, Forests &amp; and Climate Change, Dr Harsh Vardhan, to initiate a survey to assess the &#8216;population and biological appropriateness&#8217; of snow leopards in Arunachal Pradesh.<br \/>\nIn a letter to the union minister, Ering on Monday informed him that researchers from the World Wildlife Fund &#8211; India recently captured photographic evidence of snow leopards in the state.<br \/>\n&#8216;While the Government of India has always identified Arunachal Pradesh as a &#8220;snow leopard&#8221; state, this is the first time that its presence has been captured in photographs.
