{"id":12159,"date":"2017-12-12T01:17:09","date_gmt":"2017-12-11T19:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=12159"},"modified":"2017-12-12T01:17:09","modified_gmt":"2017-12-11T19:47:09","slug":"ansu-demands-sainik-school-in-nyishi-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2017\/12\/12\/ansu-demands-sainik-school-in-nyishi-area\/","title":{"rendered":"ANSU demands sainik school in Nyishi area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Dec 11:<\/strong> The All Nyishi Students&#8217; Union (ANSU) on Monday submitted a memorandum to the chief minister, demanding establishment of an agriculture-horticulture college and a sainik school in a Nyishi-inhabited area.<br \/>\nAlthough the people of the tribe are interested in the agri-horti sector, they lack in terms of farm technologies, and are not getting the required assistance, the ANSU stated in the memorandum.<br \/>\nIt said the establishment of an agri-horti college would help unlock the potential of the community members, and thereby improve their economic condition.<br \/>\nWith regard to the establishment of a sainik school, the union said the defence minister during her recent visit to the state had announced three sainik schools for Arunachal Pradesh.<br \/>\n&#8216;But, regrettably, the places for establishment of the schools have not been finalized. Being the largest community of the state, and also a late starter, we expect to have a sainik school to be established in our area,&#8217; the ANSU said.<br \/>\nThe ANSU also expressed its resentment over the inordinate delay in construction of the proposed greenfield airport in Hollongi.<br \/>\n&#8216;It is a matter of serious concern that that the construction of the proposed airport has not started even after a decade and completion of the required formalities,&#8217; it said, adding that the delay &#8216;might be a ploy to buy time and find loopholes to declare Hollongi unsuitable for the airport, in order to deprive Papum Pare of the airport.&#8217;<br \/>\nIt has sought a white paper from the state government in the matter.<br \/>\nThe union also demanded immediate rollback of the idea of privatizing the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS).<br \/>\nStating that the TRIHMS has been handed over to a Society, the ANSU said handing over the prestigious medical institute to a private party would be against the interest of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.<br \/>\n&#8216;Moreover,&#8217; it said, &#8216;the brunt of privatizing the hospital will be borne mostly by the people of the six Nyishi-inhabited districts, and also the poor patients as the fees have been increased.&#8217;<br \/>\nThe union said the government should focus more on providing facilities like ambulance, power generator and ICU, on upgrading the hospital&#8217;s infrastructure.<br \/>\nThe ANSU also sought clarification from the chief minister over the infamous &#8216;dog remark&#8217; allegedly made by the CM against Palin MLA Takam Pario.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, Dec 11: The All Nyishi Students&#8217; Union (ANSU) on Monday submitted a memorandum to the chief minister, demanding establishment of an agriculture-horticulture college and a sainik school in a Nyishi-inhabited area.
