{"id":123801,"date":"2020-05-08T01:47:58","date_gmt":"2020-05-07T20:17:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=123801"},"modified":"2020-05-08T01:47:58","modified_gmt":"2020-05-07T20:17:58","slug":"tawang-to-continue-import-restrictions-on-vegetables-meat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2020\/05\/08\/tawang-to-continue-import-restrictions-on-vegetables-meat\/","title":{"rendered":"Tawang to continue import restrictions on vegetables, meat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>TAWANG, May 7:<\/strong> The district administration here had a meeting at the DC&#8217;s conference hall on Thursday and called for continuing restrictions on import of fresh vegetables and meat items from outside Arunachal during the lockdown period.<br \/>\nThe members present also decided to &#8220;watch the situation as it emerges at the source of supply&#8221; and called for strict enforcement of lockdown guidelines.<br \/>\nDC Sang Phuntsok said that while the state falls under the green zone, &#8220;we have to be very careful since we have a big challenge ahead till the graph of increasing Covid-19 cases in our country decreases.&#8221;<br \/>\nHe further informed the house on relaxations as notified by the government, and the dos and don&#8217;ts during the third phase of the lockdown.<br \/>\nThe DC also conveyed his gratitude to the hoteliers of Tawang who made rooms available for institutional quarantine at a very nominal rate of Rs 300 to Rs 500.<br \/>\nSuperintendent of Police B Kamduk informed the house about escorting of those stranded outside Arunachal Pradesh from Bhalukpong. He requested all to cooperate further in implementing the third phase of the lockdown, with special mention of compulsory use of face mask and to refrain from spitting in public places.<br \/>\nParticipating in the discussion, Padmashree awardee, Lama Thupten Phuntsok, on behalf of all the NGOs, advocated for continued restrictions on import of fresh vegetables and meat items from outside the state. He also requested the secretaries of market welfare committees to strictly implement social distancing, use of face mask and ban on spitting in market area.<br \/>\nHe also requested the district administration to communicate the government guidelines on lockdown 3 to the Army, paramilitary, and BRO authorities as there are many civilians working under these organizations as porters and casual workers.<br \/>\nTashi, a Public leader from Jang conveyed his gratitude to the house for the appreciation given to villagers and local administration of Jang for strictly enforcing lockdown guidelines in Jang sub-division.<br \/>\nFormer Tawang ZCP Jambey Tsering, BJP district president Sange Chhodup and TDSA chairman Namgey Tsering also spoke on the occasion.
