{"id":124618,"date":"2020-05-14T02:41:44","date_gmt":"2020-05-13T21:11:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=124618"},"modified":"2020-05-14T02:41:44","modified_gmt":"2020-05-13T21:11:44","slug":"kaso-says-rkm-not-feasible-for-200-bedded-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2020\/05\/14\/kaso-says-rkm-not-feasible-for-200-bedded-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"Kaso says RKM not feasible for 200-bedded hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, May 13:<\/strong> Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso has written to Health Minister Alo Libang to reconsider the decision to convert the RK Mission Hospital (RKMH) into a 200-bedded government hospital.<br \/>\nIn the letter, Kaso stated that the RKMH at present is over crowded with patients and visitors.<br \/>\n&#8220;There is not enough space at the RKMH and establishment of new 200 bedded within its premises is not feasible,&#8221; the MLA wrote.<br \/>\nHowever, he emphasized that the institution has served the people of the capital region for more than four decades and the hospital should expand its present infrastructure to meet future needs.<br \/>\nKaso further added that the urban development department has massive unused land available at Pagatara, Jollang which can be used for the establishment of a 200-bedded green field hospital.<br \/>\nHe appealed to the health minister to take decision in the larger interest of the people of Itanagar and consider the suggestion put forward by him.<br \/>\nEarlier, several civil society bodies and students unions, such as the All Nyishi Youth Association and the All Papum Pare District Students&#8217; Union had opposed the move, claiming that the RKMH is located in a congested part of Itanagar and does not have enough land for future expansion.
