{"id":12798,"date":"2017-12-17T01:08:14","date_gmt":"2017-12-16T19:38:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=12798"},"modified":"2017-12-17T01:08:14","modified_gmt":"2017-12-16T19:38:14","slug":"players-for-ne-india-karate-do-championship-arrives-in-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2017\/12\/17\/players-for-ne-india-karate-do-championship-arrives-in-city\/","title":{"rendered":"Players for NE India Karate Do Championship arrives in city"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Dec 16:<\/strong> Around 500 players and officials from eight North-Eastern states and teams from the Services, the Darjeeling Gorkha Hills Council, and the Arunachal Pradesh Police Sports Control Board have arrived in the city for the 5th North-East India Karate Do Championship.<br \/>\nIn absence of a permanent infrastructure to conduct such events in the state, a huge temporary steel infrastructure has been erected at a cost of around Rs 20 lakh at the Nyokum Lapang ground here, said Organizing Committee Chairman Likha Tara.<br \/>\nIt is pertinent to mention here that a similar steel structure, costing several lakhs of rupees, had been built to conduct the 32nd National Junior Boys &amp; Girls Taekwondo Championship in 2012 in Naharlagun.<br \/>\n&#8220;Accommodation for the participants has been arranged at various hotels in the Capital Complex, besides at the Bharat Scouts and Guides Hostel in Naharlagun,&#8221; Tara said.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, the judges&#8217; and referees&#8217; seminar and examination was conducted at Naharlagun by the Karate Association of India Referee Commission member Rajnesh Choudhary this morning.<br \/>\nChief Minister Pema Khandu will attend the inaugural function on Sunday morning and declare the championship open.<br \/>\nArunachal Pradesh is currently ranked third in the national karate ranking and is expected to make a rich harvest of medals in the championship.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ITANAGAR, Dec 16: Around 500 players and officials from eight North-Eastern states and teams from the Services, the Darjeeling Gorkha Hills Council, and the Arunachal Pradesh Police Sports Control Board have arrived in the city for the 5th North-East India Karate Do Championship.
