{"id":128101,"date":"2020-06-14T01:27:47","date_gmt":"2020-06-13T19:57:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=128101"},"modified":"2020-06-14T01:27:47","modified_gmt":"2020-06-13T19:57:47","slug":"indian-chinese-armies-disengaging-in-a-phased-manner-army-chief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2020\/06\/14\/indian-chinese-armies-disengaging-in-a-phased-manner-army-chief\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian, Chinese armies &#8216;disengaging&#8217; in a phased manner: Army Chief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>DEHRADUN, Jun 13:<\/strong> The military talks between India and China over the eastern Ladakh row have been &#8220;very fruitful&#8221; and both the armies are &#8220;disengaging&#8221; in a phased manner, beginning from Galwan Valley, Army Chief Gen MM Naravane said on Saturday, in the first official confirmation of mutual pulling back of troops from the region.<br \/>\nThe chief of army staff also said &#8220;the entire situation&#8221; has been under control along India&#8217;s borders with China, and exuded confidence that the ongoing dialogue would &#8220;settle&#8221; all the perceived differences over the de facto Sino-India boundary.<br \/>\nGen Naravane was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the passing out parade of the Indian Military Academy.<br \/>\n&#8220;Both sides are disengaging in a phased manner. We have started from the north, from the area of the Galwan river, where a lot of disengagement has taken place. It has been a very fruitful dialogue that we have had. As I said, it will go on and the situation will improve as we go on,&#8221; he said.<br \/>\nThe Indian and Chinese armies are locked in an over-five-week standoff in Pangong Tso, Galwan Valley, Demchok and Daulat Beg Oldie in eastern Ladakh.<br \/>\nA sizeable number of Chinese army personnel even transgressed into the Indian side of the de facto border in several areas, including Pangong Tso.
