{"id":133977,"date":"2020-08-07T01:58:46","date_gmt":"2020-08-06T20:28:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=133977"},"modified":"2020-08-07T01:58:46","modified_gmt":"2020-08-06T20:28:46","slug":"peace-must-be-instilled-in-the-worlds-youth-gov","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2020\/08\/07\/peace-must-be-instilled-in-the-worlds-youth-gov\/","title":{"rendered":"Peace must be instilled in the world&#8217;s youth: Gov"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Webinar on Hiroshima Day<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, Aug 6:<\/strong> Governor BD Mishra said that the youth of the world &#8220;must be brought up, groomed and instilled with the mantra of peace.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/govneror.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-133981 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/govneror.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"340\" height=\"197\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/govneror.jpg 340w, https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/govneror-300x174.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 340px) 100vw, 340px\" \/><\/a>The governor said this after inaugurating an international webinar on &#8216;Hiroshima Day for peace in Gandhian perspective&#8217;, organized by Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Participants from four continents took part in the webinar, which was held as part of a two-year celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his address, the governor said that, &#8220;like in the ancient Indian gurukulas,&#8221; the first lessons for the youths must be peace and goodwill.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Peaceful environment, peaceful music and peaceful atmosphere promote delight and happiness,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Describing the devastations caused by nuclear bombs in the Second World War as &#8220;anti-human,&#8221; Mishra said it is the duty of every human being on earth to ensure that such calamities are not repeated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He appealed to the participants in the webinar, including from the USA, Japan, Germany and South Africa, &#8220;to make a genuine effort towards peace in the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cautioning against &#8220;countries with expansionist mindset,&#8221; Mishra said that &#8220;peace is the inescapable prerequisite for development and progress.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Reminding the participants of India&#8217;s contributions since the Vedic period to the 21st century, the governor said India has always demonstrated and promoted peace, prosperity and goodwill, and underscored that &#8220;despite many attacks to its culture, traditions and richness, India always has been the epicentre of peace and amity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said it is now the responsibility of the present generation to ensure that &#8220;the next generation grows to love peace.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">RGU Vice Chancellor, Prof Saket Kushwaha highlighted the importance of peace and tranquillity in the present world scenario.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prof Clayborne Carson, Director, The Martin Luther King Jr Education &amp; Research Institute, Stanford University, USA, delivered the keynote address.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prof B Nayak, Dr Miazi Hazam and Dr Doyir Ete of RGU also spoke.
