{"id":140878,"date":"2020-10-30T01:28:41","date_gmt":"2020-10-29T19:58:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=140878"},"modified":"2020-10-30T01:28:41","modified_gmt":"2020-10-29T19:58:41","slug":"rgusu-demands-reconsidering-decision-to-shortlist-candidates-on-merit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2020\/10\/30\/rgusu-demands-reconsidering-decision-to-shortlist-candidates-on-merit\/","title":{"rendered":"RGUSU demands reconsidering decision to shortlist candidates on merit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>RONO HILLS, Oct 29:<\/strong> Reiterating its earlier stand, the Rajiv Gandhi University Students&#8217; Union (RGUSU) has demanded that the RGU reconsider within five days its decision to shortlist new applicants on the basis of their marks for the 2020-21 session.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a letter to the vice chancellor, the RGUSU reiterated that the university &#8220;reconsider its decision to shortlist applicants based on their marks and instead shortlist the students through entrance mode, especially for professional and uncommon courses in which multidisciplinary graduates can apply.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The union said it fails to understand the logic behind the &#8220;sky-hike in fees&#8221; for applicants when the university is unwilling to conduct entrance test.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It also questioned the university&#8217;s preparations for the convocation programme and the conduct of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive (Prelims) Examination in the campus while being unwilling to conduct entrance test.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The RGUSU cautioned that the university&#8217;s failure to understand the hardship and sentiments of the students would compel the union to resort to a mass democratic protest in the campus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RONO HILLS, Oct 29: Reiterating its earlier stand, the Rajiv Gandhi University Students&#8217; Union (RGUSU) has demanded that the RGU reconsider within five days its decision to shortlist new applicants on the basis of their marks for the 2020-21 session.
