{"id":14786,"date":"2018-01-03T00:42:50","date_gmt":"2018-01-02T19:12:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=14786"},"modified":"2018-01-03T00:42:50","modified_gmt":"2018-01-02T19:12:50","slug":"shopkeepers-reject-rs-10-coins-sbi-clueless","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/01\/03\/shopkeepers-reject-rs-10-coins-sbi-clueless\/","title":{"rendered":"Shopkeepers reject Rs 10 coins, SBI clueless"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Staff Reporter<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>ITANAGAR, Jan 2:<\/strong> For reasons unknown, shops in the Capital Complex are reportedly not accepting ten-rupee coins.<br \/>\nSources informed that even the railway counters at Naharlagun are not accepting such coins from passengers.<br \/>\nThis practise by shopkeepers in Itanagar is believed to have begun a few months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi&#8217;s televised pronouncement of demonetization in November 2016.<br \/>\nHowever, it is reportedly being accepted in neighbouring state of Assam.<br \/>\n&#8220;In an unexplainable reason, the shopkeepers are not accepting ten-rupee coins and I don&#8217;t know why,&#8221; said Raju, a government employee.<br \/>\n&#8220;No one is accepting ten-rupee coins here, so are we&#8221; said a shopkeeper at Ganga.<br \/>\nOn being inquired, the Itanagar branch State Bank of India Chief Manager B S Das said that there has been no such instruction or order from the Reserve Bank of India to not accept the particular denomination.<br \/>\nDas opined that the RBI regional office in Guwahati can create awareness along with the district administration if such a practise is doing rounds in the capital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Staff Reporter ITANAGAR, Jan 2: For reasons unknown, shops in the Capital Complex are reportedly not accepting ten-rupee coins.
