{"id":148671,"date":"2021-01-26T00:49:46","date_gmt":"2021-01-25T19:19:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=148671"},"modified":"2021-01-26T00:49:46","modified_gmt":"2021-01-25T19:19:46","slug":"villagers-receive-flood-relief-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2021\/01\/26\/villagers-receive-flood-relief-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"Villagers receive flood relief fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Correspondent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>RUKSIN, 25 Jan:<\/strong> An amount of Rs 4 lakhs was handed over to the village authorities here by Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering on Monday for carrying out protection work against erosion caused by the Depi-Deren river at Depi and Depi Moli villages in East Siang district.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Accompanied by Ruksin ADC Tajing Jonnom, ZPMs Aruni Jamoh and Anung Gammeng and others, Ering handed over the cash to Gaon Burah Nanong Sitang (Eko) for paying labour wages.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The fund was sanctioned under the state government&#8217;s flood relief and rehabilitation scheme for 2020-21 and forwarded by the East Siang district administration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier, Ering had introduced a scheme for diverting the Depi-Deren river in order to protect erosion on its left bank. The erosion was posing a threat to several households, besides the government primary school and a church in Depi village.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following the MLA&#8217;s suggestion, the villagers diverted the river&#8217;s flow towards the right and controlled the erosion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The MLA later spoke to the gaon burahs of Depi and Depi Moli, and assured to take up more flood mitigation schemes in their areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Correspondent RUKSIN, 25 Jan: An amount of Rs 4 lakhs was handed over to the village authorities here by Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering on Monday for carrying out protection work against erosion caused by the Depi-Deren river at Depi and Depi Moli villages in East Siang district.
