{"id":151564,"date":"2021-02-27T01:01:39","date_gmt":"2021-02-26T19:31:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=151564"},"modified":"2021-02-27T01:01:39","modified_gmt":"2021-02-26T19:31:39","slug":"extortionists-nabbed-in-deomali","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2021\/02\/27\/extortionists-nabbed-in-deomali\/","title":{"rendered":"Extortionists nabbed in Deomali"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>DEOMALI, 26 Feb:<\/strong> The Tirap police arrested one N Henkhey, of Paniduria village, and M Pansa, of Longkai village, on Wednesday for extorting money from Deomali market in Tirap district in the name of the NSCN (IM).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the police, the duo&#8217;s modus operandi was to call their victims from mobile numbers 96121 27823 and 96124 89785, identifying themselves as NSCN (IM) operatives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After receiving inputs from sources, the police started tracking the phone numbers, and kept strict technical and human surveillance upon the callers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The police arrested the duo red-handed from Deomali market, and recovered two SIM cards used for extortion. They also recovered suspected extortion notes and a diary containing the phone numbers of many businessmen and government servants of Tirap district.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A case of extortion has been registered against the duo, and further investigation is on.
