{"id":153801,"date":"2021-03-21T02:25:15","date_gmt":"2021-03-20T20:55:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=153801"},"modified":"2021-03-21T02:25:15","modified_gmt":"2021-03-20T20:55:15","slug":"war-memorial-unveiled-in-dambuk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2021\/03\/21\/war-memorial-unveiled-in-dambuk\/","title":{"rendered":"War memorial unveiled in Dambuk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>DAMBUK, 20 Mar:<\/strong> Dambuk MLA Gum Tayeng on Saturday unveiled a war memorial (Muttum Lireng), dedicated to martyr Muttum Darin, in Yapgo village in Dambuk circle of Lower Dibang Valley district.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Muttum Darin was martyred in the Anglo-Abor War of 1894 while resisting the entry of armed British troops who were on the Abor Hill Expedition in Bongal Yapgo, presently located in Yapgo village.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The MLA said the war memorial should be preserved. She assured to provide assistance from her end to conserve the site and make it a tourist destination.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ABK president Getem Borang urged the state government to recognize the sacrifices of all the martyrs of the Anglo-Abor war of 1894.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">DC KN Damo also spoke.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A pamphlet titled &#8216;The Martyr&#8217; was jointly released by the MLA, the DC and the ABK president.
