{"id":15505,"date":"2018-01-09T00:51:46","date_gmt":"2018-01-08T19:21:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=15505"},"modified":"2018-01-09T00:51:46","modified_gmt":"2018-01-08T19:21:46","slug":"tuting-incident-resolved-gen-rawat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/01\/09\/tuting-incident-resolved-gen-rawat\/","title":{"rendered":"Tuting incident resolved: Gen Rawat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>NEW DELHI, Jan 8:<\/strong> The &#8216;Tuting incident&#8217; in Arunachal Pradesh has been resolved, Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat said here on Monday, days after Indian troops foiled attempts by Chinese road-building teams to build a track on the Indian side of the border.<br \/>\nRawat suggested that a Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) between the two sides in Arunachal two days ago had resolved the issue.<br \/>\n&#8220;The Tuting incident has been resolved,&#8221; he told reporters on the sidelines of an event.<br \/>\nHe added that the BPM had taken place two days ago.<br \/>\nAccording to the Army chief, there was a major reduction of Chinese troops in the Dokalam area in the Sikkim sector.<br \/>\nChinese road-building teams had entered about one kilometre inside Indian territory in Tuting, government sources said, adding that they had come for track alignment activities.<br \/>\nThe teams returned when confronted by Indian troops, and left behind various road building equipment, including excavators, they said.<br \/>\nThe incident came nearly four months after the end of the 73-day Dokalam standoff between Indian and Chinese troops in the Sikkim sector.
