{"id":157776,"date":"2021-05-08T02:04:06","date_gmt":"2021-05-07T20:34:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=157776"},"modified":"2021-05-08T02:04:06","modified_gmt":"2021-05-07T20:34:06","slug":"abk-youth-wing-demands-complete-lifting-of-parking-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2021\/05\/08\/abk-youth-wing-demands-complete-lifting-of-parking-charges\/","title":{"rendered":"ABK youth wing demands complete lifting of parking charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Correspondent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>PASIGHAT, 7 May:<\/strong> The youth wing of the Adi Bane Kebang (ABK) has demanded complete lifting of parking charges for two- and four-wheelers in Pasighat market square in East Siang district.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The organization gave the East Siang DC 10 days to fulfill the demand, failing which, it said it would launch a &#8220;no parking fee abhiyan.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Currently, parking fees are being charged at Rs 20 for four-wheelers and Rs 10 for two-wheelers on a two-hourly basis here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ABK had last year submitted a memorandum to the DC, demanding 50 percent reduction in the parking fees (from Rs 20 to Rs 10 for four-wheelers and Rs 10 to Rs 5 for two-wheelers). It also submitted a reminder to the DC in February this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When contacted, East Siang DC Dr Kinny Singh said &#8220;the decision of parking charges was made after discussion with the local MLA, officers and local organizations.&#8221; She said the parking fee issue is not the DC&#8217;s prerogative and is being dealt with by the Pasighat Municipal Council (PMC).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;There will be a meeting of the administrative officers, PMC councillors and NGOs and public leaders on Monday to resolve the parking problem,&#8221; the DC informed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Correspondent PASIGHAT, 7 May: The youth wing of the Adi Bane Kebang (ABK) has demanded complete lifting of parking charges for two- and four-wheelers in Pasighat market square in East Siang district.
