{"id":163739,"date":"2021-06-18T00:57:03","date_gmt":"2021-06-17T19:27:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=163739"},"modified":"2021-06-18T00:57:03","modified_gmt":"2021-06-17T19:27:03","slug":"aaplu-unit-demands-fair-probe-into-linemans-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2021\/06\/18\/aaplu-unit-demands-fair-probe-into-linemans-death\/","title":{"rendered":"AAPLU unit demands fair probe into lineman&#8217;s death\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>BOMDILA, 17 Jun:<\/strong> The West Kameng district unit of the All Arunachal Pradesh Labour&#8217;s Union (AAPLU) has demanded a free and fair investigation into the death of lineman Harik Sangma.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sangma, who was a regular government employee and was engaged as a lineman\/labourer in the office of the power (electrical) department&#8217;s Bomdila division executive engineer, was electrocuted when he was restoring a fault in the 33 kv electricity pole in the Rupa Army Line near Maya bridge on 8 June at around 4:30 am, the AAPLU unit said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sangma succumbed to his burn injuries on the way to Tezpur (Assam), it added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a four-point charter of demand it submitted to the West Kameng deputy commissioner on Thursday, the AAPLU unit demanded a government job for the nearest family member of the deceased on compassionate grounds, besides adequate amount of compensation to the bereaved family.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The unit also demanded provision of sufficient safety equipments to the frontline staffers of the electrical department in Bomdila, besides a fair inquiry into Sangma&#8217;s death.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It threatened to &#8220;go for democratic movement&#8221; if its demands are not met within a month.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The AAPLU district unit also filed an FIR at the Rupa police station, and a case [No 10\/2021 under Section 304 (a) of IPC] has been registered in this connection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In its FIR, the AAPLU unit said that Sangma died due to &#8220;negligence\/miscommunication between JE KC Aggarwal, Bomdila power (electrical) division, and staff of the MES army sub-station, Rupa.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BOMDILA, 17 Jun: The West Kameng district unit of the All Arunachal Pradesh Labour&#8217;s Union (AAPLU) has demanded a free and fair investigation into the death of lineman Harik Sangma.
