{"id":169601,"date":"2021-08-20T00:09:25","date_gmt":"2021-08-19T18:39:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=169601"},"modified":"2021-08-20T00:09:25","modified_gmt":"2021-08-19T18:39:25","slug":"maharashtras-saheb-sodhi-upsets-seventh-seed-daksh-prasad-to-advance-to-national-under-18-clay-court-tennis-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2021\/08\/20\/maharashtras-saheb-sodhi-upsets-seventh-seed-daksh-prasad-to-advance-to-national-under-18-clay-court-tennis-championships\/","title":{"rendered":"Maharashtra&#8217;s Saheb Sodhi upsets seventh seed Daksh Prasad to advance to National Under-18 Clay Court Tennis Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chennai, Aug 19 (PTI): Unseeded Saheb Sodhi of Maharashtra upset 7th-seeded Daksh Prasad of Madhya Pradesh 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(5) to advance to the boys singles semi-finals of the Tennishub-MPTA National Junior Under-18 Clay Court Tennis Championships 2021 in Chennai on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sodhi hit fluent groundstrokes and came up with some good volleys to win the first set 6-3 before Prasad fought back to take the second 6-4.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The decider saw a close contest with Sodhi winning the tie-break 7-5 to emerge winner.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The top-seed Chirag Duhan of Haryana once again played an up and down game but managed to get the better of the 8th-seeded Aditya Nandal of Haryana in three sets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also advancing to the last four were third-seeded Denim Yadav and No 6 seed Yogee Panwar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the boys doubles finals, the top-seeded pair of Duhan and Sandesh Kurae (Maharashtra) will meet Munim Deep (MP) and Athreya Dhananjay (TN).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the girl&#8217;s singles, the top four seeds moved into the semi-finals.
