{"id":17140,"date":"2018-01-24T01:09:10","date_gmt":"2018-01-23T19:39:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=17140"},"modified":"2018-01-24T01:09:10","modified_gmt":"2018-01-23T19:39:10","slug":"icar-nrc-on-yak-celebrates-foundation-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/01\/24\/icar-nrc-on-yak-celebrates-foundation-day\/","title":{"rendered":"ICAR-NRC on Yak celebrates foundation day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>DIRANG, Jan 23:<\/strong> The ICAR-National Research Centre (ICAR-NRC) on Yak here in West Kameng district celebrated its 29th foundation day on Tuesday.<br \/>\nEstablished by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in 1989, the ICAR-NRC is the only institute in the country for carrying out research exclusively on yak.<br \/>\nThe institute\u2019s acting director, Dr P Chakravarty set the celebration in motion by hoisting the flag, which was followed by a meeting attended by officers from the district administration, personnel from paramilitary forces, the institute\u2019s staff, public leaders, and other stakeholders.<br \/>\nDr Chakravarty lauded the efforts of the institute\u2019s staff in making great progress in yak research, and urged them to work sincerely to take the institute to newer heights.<br \/>\nThe ITBP\u2019s 4th Bn Commandant Mukesh Saraf lauded the institute\u2019s work in such a remote location for the welfare of yaks and yak herdsmen. He highlighted the importance of yaks to the ITBP as pack animals, and thanked the institute for providing training to their personnel on yak handling and management.<br \/>\nDirang CO Koj Yabyang expressed appreciation for \u201cthe different value addition of yak products\u201d and emphasized on developing marketing strategies for these produces for the benefit of the yak herdsmen.<br \/>\nThe meeting was followed by a cultural programme presented by the staffers of the institute.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DIRANG, Jan 23: The ICAR-National Research Centre (ICAR-NRC) on Yak here in West Kameng district celebrated its 29th foundation day on Tuesday.
