{"id":171814,"date":"2021-09-15T02:44:52","date_gmt":"2021-09-14T21:14:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=171814"},"modified":"2021-09-15T02:44:52","modified_gmt":"2021-09-14T21:14:52","slug":"sorang-yumi-appointed-as-archery-coach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2021\/09\/15\/sorang-yumi-appointed-as-archery-coach\/","title":{"rendered":"Sorang Yumi appointed as archery coach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Staff Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, 14 Sep:<\/strong> After courting controversy over the recruitment of coaches and instructors, an embarrassed sports department on Tuesday appointed international medal-winning archer Sorang Yumi as a contractual archery coach.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yumi had accused the department of nepotism and abuse of power by denying her the post of coach and instead appointing a candidate who never won a medal at the national level.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yumi&#8217;s allegation rocked the department, forcing the sports &amp; youth affairs secretary to issue a show cause notice to the SAA director, and to instruct the sports director to re-evaluate the result of the interview.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With her appointment, the department has by and large admitted that the interview for archery coach had not been conducted fairly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yumi had highlighted the sports director&#8217;s role in the recruitment process, accusing him of favouring his brother-in-law.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Yumi put the sports department&#8217;s recruitment process under the spotlight.
