{"id":172687,"date":"2021-09-26T00:10:22","date_gmt":"2021-09-25T18:40:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=172687"},"modified":"2021-09-26T00:10:22","modified_gmt":"2021-09-25T18:40:22","slug":"durand-cup-2021-bengaluru-fc-down-army-green-to-setup-semis-with-fc-goa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2021\/09\/26\/durand-cup-2021-bengaluru-fc-down-army-green-to-setup-semis-with-fc-goa\/","title":{"rendered":"Durand Cup 2021: Bengaluru FC down Army Green to setup semis with FC Goa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kolkata, Sep 25 (PTI): Bengaluru FC entered the semi-finals of the Durand Cup after edging past Army Green 3-2 in an engrossing contest on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They face FC Goa in the second semi-final on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wungngayam Muirang (20th minute), Leon Augustine (47th) and Namgyal Bhutia (74th) scored for Bengaluru while Lallawmkima (9th) and Vibin T V (89th) found the target for Army Greens.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Army side created pressure early on and they got the reward as Lallawmkima scored from the spot in the ninth minute to take the lead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, BFC restored parity through Muirang in the 20th minute as he curled his free kick into the back of the net, giving Army Green&#8217;s keeper Sarath no chance whatsoever.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Leon Augustine scored for BFC just minutes into the second half. Namgyal Bhutia made it 3-1 for BFC in the 74th minute to give the Blues a comfortable two-goal cushion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Army Greens&#8217; Dip Majumdar and Deepak Singh did create chances and put pressure on the Bengaluru goal but the Blues&#8217; defence did well to keep the lead intact.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Army Green pulled one back, through another spot-kick taken by Vibin in the 89th minute but it was too late then.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kolkata, Sep 25 (PTI): Bengaluru FC entered the semi-finals of the Durand Cup after edging past Army Green 3-2 in an engrossing contest on Saturday.
