{"id":17561,"date":"2018-01-28T02:06:30","date_gmt":"2018-01-27T20:36:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=17561"},"modified":"2018-01-28T02:06:30","modified_gmt":"2018-01-27T20:36:30","slug":"mithun-finds-a-place-in-icars-maiden-tableau-at-r-day-parade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2018\/01\/28\/mithun-finds-a-place-in-icars-maiden-tableau-at-r-day-parade\/","title":{"rendered":"Mithun finds a place in ICAR&#8217;s maiden tableau at R-Day parade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<strong>ITANAGAR, Jan 27:<\/strong> Mithun, the bovine species common to Arunachal Pradesh and other states of the Northeast, was showcased at the Republic Day parade this year in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research&#8217;s (ICAR) tableau.<br \/>\nThe ICAR in its tableau exhibited the integrated farming system &#8211; a judicious mix of two or more agri-enterprise systems which helps support eco-friendly production, enhances employment and income, and enriches family nutrition.<br \/>\nDirector of ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Dr Abhijit Mitra said exhibiting the mithun in the tableau &#8220;vindicated the importance of mithun husbandry for doubling the income of the tribal farmers of the region.&#8221;<br \/>\nHe said the mithun is the only livestock species in India which has the distinction of being the state animal of two states &#8211; Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.<br \/>\n&#8220;It is primarily reared as a meat animal, but it has a potential as a source of milk, hide, and animal-power.
