{"id":178482,"date":"2021-12-05T01:31:09","date_gmt":"2021-12-04T20:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=178482"},"modified":"2021-12-05T01:31:09","modified_gmt":"2021-12-04T20:01:09","slug":"riwatch-organizes-training-prog-for-farmers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2021\/12\/05\/riwatch-organizes-training-prog-for-farmers\/","title":{"rendered":"RIWATCH organizes training prog for farmers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>KHINJILI, 4 Dec:<\/strong> The Research Institute of World&#8217;s Ancient Traditions, Cultures and Heritage (RIWATCH) here in Lower Dibang Valley district organized a training programme for selected farmers on cultivation of vegetables and herbs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Koronu ADO Kato Tayeng delivered a lecture on &#8216;Seasonal vegetables prospects for organic growth &#8211; opportunities and challenges&#8217;, while Koronu HDO M Pait spoke on the role of fruits as nutrition supplements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Local progressive farmer Gulai Mihu presented a practical demonstration on vermicomposting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The RIWATCH has adopted 150 farmers from 15 villages for growing selected vegetables and herbal medicines. Seeds have already been provided to the farmers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fifty-five farmers from Iduli, Jia, Emuli, Rukmo, Abali, Balek, Koronu, Bolung and Simari attended the training programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">RIWATCH Executive Director Vijay Swami and project coordinator Ashilo Linggi Ehili were present during the programme.
