YUPIA, 18 Jan:<\/strong> Papum Pare DC Minga Sherpa reviewed the status of Covid-19 vaccination in the district during a meeting of the District Task Force for Immunization (DTFI) here on Tuesday.<\/p>\n The DC said that, in view of the emergence of the Omicron variant, “we have to continue our fight and there is need to expedite the pace of vaccination, which is the only way to curb the spread of Covid-19.”<\/p>\n Sherpa stressed on “adopting a systematic approach by compiling a list of all eligible beneficiaries, including healthcare workers and frontline workers, for ongoing Covid-19 vaccine and precautionary booster dose to ensure maximum coverage.”<\/p>\n The DC instructed the health authorities to organize special vaccination camps at schools to vaccinate those in the age group of 15-18 years, and to encourage eligible students to get vaccinated.<\/p>\n He also highlighted various aspects of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (ABPMJAY), and<\/p>\n directed the health department to intensify IEC activities across the district “to create awareness among the people to enrol themselves under the scheme.”<\/p>\n Papum Pare SP Neelam Nega informed that the police personnel at the check gates have been directed to check the vaccination status of all those entering the state.<\/p>\n The SP requested the health officials to “conduct special camps for vaccination and ABPMJAY enrolment for police personnel.”<\/p>\n DRCHO Dr Neyang Nitik and Sagalee CHC MO Dr Nyodu made presentations on the district’s Covid-19 vaccination status and the Intensified Mission Indradhanush, respectively, while IDSP DSO Dr RR Ronya informed about the Covid cases in the district and requested the MOs to restart flu clinics.<\/p>\n DMO Dr Tana Aruna also spoke.<\/p>\n The meeting was attended by programme officers, MOs of PHCs and CHCs, and medical staffers.
