{"id":182417,"date":"2022-01-24T00:20:10","date_gmt":"2022-01-23T18:50:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=182417"},"modified":"2022-01-24T00:20:10","modified_gmt":"2022-01-23T18:50:10","slug":"huge-cache-of-arms-ammunition-found-in-karbi-anglong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/01\/24\/huge-cache-of-arms-ammunition-found-in-karbi-anglong\/","title":{"rendered":"Huge cache of arms, ammunition found in Karbi Anglong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Diphu, Jan 23 (PTI) A huge cache of arms and ammunition, suspected to be of militant outfit KDLF, was recovered from a forest area in Assam&#8217;s Karbi Anglong district, police said on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The arms and ammunition were found buried in the forest behind a botanical garden near the Diphu-Lumding Road, they said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The police acted on a tip-off that arms and ammunition were hidden there by Karbi Democratic Liberation Front (KDLF) self-styled chairman Jackson Ronghang, who was killed in a gunfight with security forces in December last year, said Diphu police station officer in charge JS Khobung.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Police have been searching the area for the arms and it were finally discovered on Saturday afternoon, he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">No arrests have been made so far in connection with the recoveries, he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among those recovered are a .22 rifle, a .303 rifle, a hand-made pistol, several grenades and detonators, magazines and explosives of different kinds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Diphu, Jan 23 (PTI) A huge cache of arms and ammunition, suspected to be of militant outfit KDLF, was recovered from a forest area in Assam&#8217;s Karbi Anglong district, police said on Sunday.
