ITANAGAR, 10 Feb:<\/strong> Actress and model from Pasighat (East Siang), Chum Darang, is making her Bollywood debut with Junglee Productions’ Badhaai Do<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old actress will be seen sharing screen space with actors Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar.<\/p>\n

Badhaai Do<\/em>, which is scheduled to be released on 11 February, is an unconventional story, showing the journey of a lesbian woman and a gay man who marry each other as a setup to appease their parents. Chum Darang will be seen playing Bhumi Pednekar’s love interest.<\/p>\n

Though Darang is thrilled with the opportunity, she said that Bollywood was never in her plans.<\/p>\n

“I wanted to act but I thought people would laugh if I told them about this,” she said.<\/p>\n

The actress also said that her friends and family back home are equally thrilled about the film. “We don’t have theatres in my hometown, so they are planning to go to Assam and will be travelling for three hours to see me on the big screen,” she said.<\/p>\n

On her co-stars, Darang said that sharing the screen with actors like Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar has been a learning experience.<\/p>\n

“They both are so down-to-earth and work really hard. I know they are experienced; they know so much, but during the shoot, they sat down, listened to the director and worked accordingly. I learnt to be hard-working and grounded from them. The respect they have for other actors on set was another thing that I learnt from them,” she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
