AALO, 12 Feb:<\/strong> West Siang DC Penga Tato stressed on plugging critical gaps in the healthcare system.<\/p>\n During a meeting he chaired here on 11 February, the DC said that the general hospital, along with the PHCs, CHCs and sub-centres in rural and urban areas “need to have maximum facilities in terms of infrastructure, medicines, manpower, etc, to render health delivery services in a more effective way.”<\/p>\n DMO Dr Dubom Bagra, who also attended the meeting, emphasized on “state-specific guidelines for the 15th Finance Commission health grants through the local government,” and said that the PRIs should play a supervisory role in order to strengthen the primary health care institutions.<\/p>\n “It is important to keep all 25 sub-centres functional to get government grants annually, and PRIs and medical officers have to work together to sort out need-based works from funds allocated to the PHCs annually,” he said.<\/p>\n He appealed to the panchayat leaders to “tie up with respective elected leaders, for manpower as nurses from general hospital cannot be spared for any sub-centre due to shortage of staff.”<\/p>\n The DMO informed that the PHC in Liromoba has been selected to be upgraded under the 5th Finance Commission 2022-23.<\/p>\n DPM Yomto Lollen stressed on “effort to carry out institutional delivery and immunization in the medical sub-centres, instead of rushing all normal cases to general hospitals.” (DIPRO)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" AALO, 12 Feb: West Siang DC Penga Tato stressed on plugging critical gaps in the healthcare system.
