{"id":185221,"date":"2022-02-26T02:43:53","date_gmt":"2022-02-25T21:13:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=185221"},"modified":"2022-02-26T02:43:53","modified_gmt":"2022-02-25T21:13:53","slug":"man-gets-life-sentence-for-raping-minor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/02\/26\/man-gets-life-sentence-for-raping-minor\/","title":{"rendered":"Man gets life sentence for raping minor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>KHONSA, 25 Feb:<\/strong> The POCSO court here in Tirap district has sentenced a 32-year-old man to life imprisonment for raping a minor girl.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The court convicted Mikjan Longri, of Kharsang in Changlang district, under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on him for committing the offence of aggravated penetrative assault upon a child below 12 years of age.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The victim, who was a Class 2 student of a government primary school, was raped by the man when he was accompanying her to Samkhidong village.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The victim&#8217;s father had filed an FIR at the Kharsang police station on 21 July, 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The case was investigated by SI Ajay Kumar and the prosecution was conducted by special public prosecutor Nyajing Hallang.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The court has referred the matter to the District Legal Services Authority, Changlang, for providing adequate compensation for the rehabilitation of the victim under the Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Scheme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KHONSA, 25 Feb: The POCSO court here in Tirap district has sentenced a 32-year-old man to life imprisonment for raping a minor girl.
