{"id":186348,"date":"2022-03-13T01:22:22","date_gmt":"2022-03-12T19:52:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=186348"},"modified":"2022-03-13T01:22:22","modified_gmt":"2022-03-12T19:52:22","slug":"apwws-expresses-displeasure-over-lack-of-dignity-in-assembly-discussion-on-menstrual-leave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/03\/13\/apwws-expresses-displeasure-over-lack-of-dignity-in-assembly-discussion-on-menstrual-leave\/","title":{"rendered":"APWWS expresses displeasure over &#8216;lack of dignity&#8217; in assembly discussion on menstrual leave"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, 12 Mar:<\/strong> A day after the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly saw a vexed discussion on menstrual leave, the Arunachal Pradesh Women&#8217;s Welfare Society (APWWS) has expressed displeasure at the way the discussion on menstrual leave for women was carried out in the legislative assembly on Friday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The members of the august house, even if they had disagreed with the private member&#8217;s resolution on grant of leave to menstruating girls and women, should have approached the subject with dignity and understanding,&#8221; the APWWS stated in a release.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Using unparliamentarily words to describe a biological process shows ignorance and disrespect to girls and women. Menstruation is not a taboo.
