{"id":186979,"date":"2022-03-23T02:31:59","date_gmt":"2022-03-22T21:01:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=186979"},"modified":"2022-03-23T02:31:59","modified_gmt":"2022-03-22T21:01:59","slug":"speaker-gives-away-prizes-of-shi-yomi-dist-olympic-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/03\/23\/speaker-gives-away-prizes-of-shi-yomi-dist-olympic-games\/","title":{"rendered":"Speaker gives away prizes of Shi-Yomi dist Olympic games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>MECHUKHA, 22 Mar:<\/strong> Legislative Assembly Speaker Pasang D Sona on Tuesday gave away the prizes to the winners in various disciplines of the first Shi-Yomi district Olympics games here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The games, which were kicked off on 18 March, were organised in Monigong and Mechukha.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking on the occasion, the speaker congratulated the Shi-Yomi District Olympics Association for conducting the events despite so many difficulties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The youths should channel their potentials and avoid wasting their time in unproductive activities,&#8221; Sona said, adding that &#8220;games and sports not only help build one&#8217;s career but also keep them healthy and fit.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stating that the drug menace is one of the biggest challenges the state is facing today, the speaker made a fervent appeal to the youths not to indulge in substance abuse.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Monigong circle emerged the overall champion with 10 gold, 6 silver and 10 bronze medals, while Mechukha circle stood second with 5 gold and 4 silver medals. Pidi circle bagged 2 gold and 2 silver medals to stand third, while Tato circle was placed in the fourth place with 1 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze medals. The newly created Rapum circle bagged 1 silver medal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among others, Mechukha ADC Bairo Sorum and the DDSE were present on the occasion.
