MOMONG, 29 Mar:<\/strong> More than 30 members of different SHGs participated in a Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) on ‘incense stick making’, which concluded in Momong village in Namsai district on Tuesday.<\/p>\n The programme was sponsored by the NABARD’s Itanagar regional office and implemented by the Namsai Organic Spices and Agricultural Products Producer Co Ltd (NOSAAP), in collaboration with the ArSRLM’s Chongkham block mission management unit.<\/p>\n The trainees learned about the process of incense stick making using a machine, application of different scents to the product, and packaging the product in the standard form for selling it directly in the market.<\/p>\n Addressing the valedictory function, NABARD DDM Kamal Roy said that “market linkage is the most important for rural farm and non-farm products, for which rural marts in Tengapani, Namsai and Chongkham are present to facilitate the process.”<\/p>\n NOSAAP BMM Juspin Kerketta stressed the need for such training in the rural areas to boost the livelihood activities of the SHGs.<\/p>\n NOSAAP CEO Chau Athina Chauhai said that “the quality and pricing of the product plays a pivotal role to be successful in the market,” adding that the semiautomatic machine which is being provided to SHG Khintanau “can be upgraded to fully automatic one if the market demand of the product is high in future.”<\/p>\n Certificates were later distributed to the trainees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" MOMONG, 29 Mar: More than 30 members of different SHGs participated in a Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) on ‘incense stick making’, which concluded in Momong village in Namsai district on Tuesday.
