ITANAGAR, 6 May:<\/strong> The Indian Army’s 4 Corps General Officer Commanding (GOC), Lt Gen Dinesh Singh Rana, called on Governor BD Mishra at the Raj Bhavan here on 6 May, and the two discussed national security, civil-military relationships, and recruitment of local youths in the Indian Army.<\/p>\n The governor commended the “alertness and \u00e9lan” of the troops of the 4 Corps deployed on the line of actual control (LAC) in western Arunachal. He expressed confidence in the security preparedness of the 4 Corps troops and complimented the army’s resolve to maintain peace and tranquillity along the LAC.<\/p>\n Mishra suggested to the GOC to direct his formations and units to conduct pre-recruitment camps for the local youths, and advocated conducting more awareness and motivational camps for recruiting local youths in different parts of the state, while reiterating that “the state’s home-grown soldiers will be the best defenders of the safety and security of the state and the nation.”<\/p>\n The governor also emphasised on goodwill civic actions by the armed forces in the remote, rural and far-flung areas.<\/p>\n The GOC assured the governor of his best cooperation to continue the excellent civil-military relationship in the state.
