{"id":193832,"date":"2022-06-24T00:52:18","date_gmt":"2022-06-23T19:22:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=193832"},"modified":"2022-06-24T00:53:35","modified_gmt":"2022-06-23T19:23:35","slug":"joint-ads-team-arrests-drug-peddlers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/06\/24\/joint-ads-team-arrests-drug-peddlers\/","title":{"rendered":"Joint ADS team arrests drug peddlers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>NAMSAI, 23 Jun:<\/strong> A joint team of the anti-drug squads (ADS) of Changlang and Namsai districts arrested a person, identified as Koha Manchey (48), a resident of 2 Mile area here, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The arrest was made after the Changlang ADS, led by SI AN Singh, stopped a car at a naka point in Taipong area and checked the vehicle in the presence of Magistrate Atu Yekar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Clothes smeared with raw opium, weighing approximately 666 gms, were seized from Manchey&#8217;s possession.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Based on his disclosure, the joint team, under the supervision of the SPs of the two districts, conducted a raid at his residence in 2 Mile, and recovered a huge stash of opium, weighing approximately 2.168 kgs, along with sales proceeds of Rs 31,350.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A criminal case under the NDPS Act has been registered at the Jairampur police station in this regard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier on the same day, a surprise naka checking was conducted at Namdang by the Changlang ADS, led by Inspector C Yanchang. During checking, a car coming from Assam was intercepted, and on searching the vehicle, the ADS recovered suspected brown sugar weighing approximately 13.84 gms from the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The owner of the drug has been identified as Hunkap Tangha (25).
