{"id":193939,"date":"2022-06-26T02:03:17","date_gmt":"2022-06-25T20:33:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=193939"},"modified":"2022-06-26T02:03:17","modified_gmt":"2022-06-25T20:33:17","slug":"assam-seeks-arunachals-help-in-addressing-flood-problem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/06\/26\/assam-seeks-arunachals-help-in-addressing-flood-problem\/","title":{"rendered":"Assam seeks Arunachal&#8217;s help in addressing flood problem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>[ Prafulla Kaman ]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>DHEMAJI, 25 Jun:<\/strong> Assam&#8217;s Dhemaji district administration has sought the Lower Siang district administration&#8217;s help in addressing the flood problem in Assam&#8217;s Silapathar and adjoining areas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On Saturday, Dhemaji DC Asim Kr Bhattacharya met<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lower Siang DC Marto Riba and apprised him of the flood caused by perennial streams and rainwater flowing down the hills in Arunachal during monsoon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Assam MP Pradan Baruah and MLA Bhuban Pegu also attended the meeting and sought help from the Lower Siang administration in preparing a joint master plan to control flooding by the perennial streams.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the meeting, the participants resolved to engage the Border Roads Organisation and engineers from both the states to conduct a technical survey.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The team will also prepare an action plan to drain out clogged water from Likabali and Silapathar township areas and regulate the perennial streams.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They also sought help from the Indian Army and the IRBn stationed in Likabali.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Likabali-based 22nd IRBn Commanding Officer M Ahmed, Dhemaji ADC Utpal Doley and Sissiborgaon (Assam) CO Nilotpal Pathok also attended the meeting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[ Prafulla Kaman ] DHEMAJI, 25 Jun: Assam&#8217;s Dhemaji district administration has sought the Lower Siang district administration&#8217;s help in addressing the flood problem in Assam&#8217;s Silapathar and adjoining areas.
