{"id":194160,"date":"2022-06-29T02:39:30","date_gmt":"2022-06-28T21:09:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=194160"},"modified":"2022-06-29T02:39:30","modified_gmt":"2022-06-28T21:09:30","slug":"das-announce-temporary-closure-of-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/06\/29\/das-announce-temporary-closure-of-schools\/","title":{"rendered":"DAs announce temporary closure of schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>[ Staff Reporter ]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, 28 Jun:<\/strong> In view of the incessant rainfall triggering floods in the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR), the ICR district administration on Tuesday announced shutting down of all the schools, including primary, pre-primary, upper primary, high and higher secondary schools, in Itanagar from 29 June to 1 July.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Invoking Section 33 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom informed that the situation would be assessed prior to taking a decision regarding extending the closure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Potom said that the schools&#8217; closure is a precautionary measure for the safety of the students. He informed that, due to incessant rainfall, various locations within Itanagar have been affected by flood and landslides, posing a threat to lives and properties.
