{"id":196895,"date":"2022-08-01T01:44:25","date_gmt":"2022-07-31T20:14:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=196895"},"modified":"2022-08-01T01:44:25","modified_gmt":"2022-07-31T20:14:25","slug":"boys-stuck-on-boulder-in-kameng-river-rescued","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/08\/01\/boys-stuck-on-boulder-in-kameng-river-rescued\/","title":{"rendered":"Boys stuck on boulder in Kameng river rescued"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Staff Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, 31 Jul:<\/strong> Two minor boys who had got stuck on a boulder in the middle of the Kameng river at Pacha Myorang area in East Kameng district were rescued by a rescue team on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The boys have been identified as Loki Dada and Tajuk Doka, both Class 6 students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An SOS video of the two boys stranded on the boulder, with the river water rising, was circulated in a WhatsApp group, informing that the boys were stranded for hours and were unable to swim across.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alarmed residents alerted the deputy commissioner and the police in headquarters Seppa, seeking immediate rescue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">DC Abhishek Pravimal Polumatla rushed to the spot along with local residents and the police.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Later, an inflated rafting boat with life jackets was brought from East Kameng Social Welfare &amp; Cultural Organisation chairman Bharat Sonam&#8217;s residence by a team led by PHED JE Sangtung Yangfo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The rescue operation ended at around 7:10 pm.
