In Gold Coast, he had returned with a bronze.<br \/>\nSamoa&#8217;s Don Opeloge 381kg (171kg+210kg) bettered his 2018 silver by clinching gold with a record-breaking performance.<br \/>\n&#8220;I&#8217;m very happy to have won my third CWG medal. Today also happens to be my mom&#8217;s (Asha Devi Thakur&#8217;s) birthday. I want to dedicate this medal to her,&#8221; Thakur said after the win.<br \/>\nA massive 35kg separated him from the &#8216;Don&#8217; of Samoa but the 28-year-old is confident that he would improve and match his standards in near future.<br \/>\n&#8220;Last time in 2018, I had to change my category and in 85kg Rahul (Venkat Ragala) had defeated him (Opeloge). I had an injury and had to play in 94kg and won the bronze (at Gold Coast).<br \/>\n&#8220;It&#8217;s good for us that the standard is improving in CWG. We have been domin-ating in this discipline. But we have to still work hard to achieve the world standard,&#8221; Thakur said.
