{"id":197458,"date":"2022-08-08T00:23:42","date_gmt":"2022-08-07T18:53:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=197458"},"modified":"2022-08-08T00:23:42","modified_gmt":"2022-08-07T18:53:42","slug":"assam-police-officer-arrested-for-accepting-bribe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/08\/08\/assam-police-officer-arrested-for-accepting-bribe\/","title":{"rendered":"Assam police officer arrested for accepting bribe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Guwahati, Aug 7 (PTI) A police officer was arrested on Sunday by sleuths of the anti-corruption and vigilance directorate in Assam&#8217;s Goalpara district for allegedly accepting a bribe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Matia Police Station, Sabin Pal Das, was caught with the bribe from inside a police station, a press release said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A complaint was received by the directorate of anti-corruption and vigilance against Das for allegedly demanding Rs 35,000.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He had demanded the bribe to mitigate pending cases in favour of the complainant at the Matia police station.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The complainant had approached the vigilance directorate and accordingly, a trap was laid, leading to the arrest of the ASI.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bribe money of Rs 25,000 was seized from Das in the operation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A case has been registered against Das and further legal action initiated, the release added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guwahati, Aug 7 (PTI) A police officer was arrested on Sunday by sleuths of the anti-corruption and vigilance directorate in Assam&#8217;s Goalpara district for allegedly accepting a bribe.
