{"id":200877,"date":"2022-09-20T01:41:46","date_gmt":"2022-09-19T20:11:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=200877"},"modified":"2022-09-20T01:41:46","modified_gmt":"2022-09-19T20:11:46","slug":"training-prog-on-onion-cultivation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/09\/20\/training-prog-on-onion-cultivation\/","title":{"rendered":"Training prog on onion cultivation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>GEKU, 19 Sep:<\/strong> The Upper Siang KVK, in collaboration with Pasighat (East Siang)-based College of Horticulture &amp; Forestry (CHF), organised a &#8216;training and awareness programme&#8217; on onion cultivation here on Monday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Onion is not at all produced in the district, and the district is completely dependent on onion import from other states.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CHF Vegetable Science Head Prof Chandra Deo conducted a technical session on &#8220;scientific onion cultivation and its production practices and potentials,&#8221; while Plant Pathology Professor Dr Gireesh Chandra spoke about &#8220;diseases of onion and effective control measure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">KVK Head Dr Oyinti Megu urged the farmers to &#8220;take up onion production to a self-reliant horticulture scenario in future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Onion seeds were distributed to the 85 farmers from Geku and adjoining villages who attended the programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In another programme on the same day, the KVK conducted a tree plantation programme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GEKU, 19 Sep: The Upper Siang KVK, in collaboration with Pasighat (East Siang)-based College of Horticulture &amp; Forestry (CHF), organised a &#8216;training and awareness programme&#8217; on onion cultivation here on Monday.
