{"id":200962,"date":"2022-09-21T00:10:40","date_gmt":"2022-09-20T18:40:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=200962"},"modified":"2022-09-21T00:10:40","modified_gmt":"2022-09-20T18:40:40","slug":"womens-t20-asia-cup-india-to-meet-pakistan-on-october-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/09\/21\/womens-t20-asia-cup-india-to-meet-pakistan-on-october-7\/","title":{"rendered":"Women&#8217;s T20 Asia Cup: India to meet Pakistan on October 7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kuala Lumpur, Sep 20 (PTI) India will meet arch-rivals Pakistan on October 7 in the Women&#8217;s T20 Asia Cup, scheduled to begin in Bangladesh&#8217;s Sylhet from next month, Asian Cricket Council president Jay Shah announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seven teams will take part in the 15-day tournament, starting on October 1.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The tournament will be held in a round robin format with the top four teams qualifying for the semifinals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The teams playing in the tournament are India, Pakistan, hosts Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, UAE, Thailand and Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Afghanistan doesn&#8217;t have a women&#8217;s team since the Taliban took over.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">India start the campaign on the opening day against Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They next play Malaysia (October 3) and UAE (October 4) on successive days before taking on Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">India play hosts Bangladesh on October 8 and the round robin game against minnows Thailand is on October 10.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will play six league games in 10 days before the probable semifinals on either october 11 or 13th.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The final is slated for October 15.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kuala Lumpur, Sep 20 (PTI) India will meet arch-rivals Pakistan on October 7 in the Women&#8217;s T20 Asia Cup, scheduled to begin in Bangladesh&#8217;s Sylhet from next month, Asian Cricket Council president Jay Shah announced on Tuesday.
