{"id":202001,"date":"2022-10-03T01:47:26","date_gmt":"2022-10-02T20:17:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=202001"},"modified":"2022-10-03T01:48:48","modified_gmt":"2022-10-02T20:18:48","slug":"nationalgames-arunachal-eyes-another-medal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/10\/03\/nationalgames-arunachal-eyes-another-medal\/","title":{"rendered":"National Games: Arunachal eyes another medal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Staff Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>GANDHINAGAR, 2 Oct:<\/strong> After two days of medal drought, Arunachal&#8217;s hunt for the second medal in the ongoing National Games will resume on Monday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ace lifter Sambo Lapung will be the lone participant from Arunachal on Day 4 of the Games on Monday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The reigning senior national champion will be competing in the men&#8217;s 96 kg category.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His main competitor will be the Services Sports Control Board&#8217;s Jagdish.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sambo had lifted 147 kgs in snatch and 189 kgs in clean &amp; jerk, for a total of 336 kgs in the Senior National Weightlifting Championship, which was held in Odisha in March this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On Sunday, Ch Nirmala Devi of Arunachal finished sixth among the eight competitors in the women&#8217;s 64 kg category.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She lifted a total weight of 189 kgs (snatch 82 kgs + clean &amp; jerk 108 kgs).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The gold and silver medals were won by Punjab&#8217;s Jasvir Kaur and Andhra Pradesh&#8217;s S Pallavi, respectively.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kaur lifted a total of 200 kgs.
