{"id":204957,"date":"2022-11-16T00:24:02","date_gmt":"2022-11-15T18:54:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=204957"},"modified":"2022-11-16T00:24:02","modified_gmt":"2022-11-15T18:54:02","slug":"banned-pfis-student-wing-leader-in-police-remand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/11\/16\/banned-pfis-student-wing-leader-in-police-remand\/","title":{"rendered":"Banned PFI&#8217;s student wing leader in police remand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\nGuwahati, Nov 14 (PTI) Leader of banned Popular Front of India&#8217;s student wing Amir Hamza was on Monday remanded in police custody by a court here.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hamza was arrested in Bengaluru last week and brought to Guwahati on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He was produced before chief judicial magistrate, Guwahati, which remanded him in five-day police custody, a release by the Assam Police said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A search operation at Hamza&#8217;s residence in Baksa district had led to recovery of various incriminating documents and posters.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The seized items include posters against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, the BJP, the RSS and the ABVP, along with those in support of hijab.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Letterheads of PFI were also recovered from his house.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hamza, who was absconding, was on Friday night apprehended by a team of the Assam Police in Bengaluru.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At least 40 PFI activists have been arrested from different parts of the state recently.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The police have already sealed the PFI Assam&#8217;s head office in Hatigaon area of Guwahati as well as its local offices in Karimganj and Baksa, following the ban on the outfit by the central government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guwahati, Nov 14 (PTI) Leader of banned Popular Front of India&#8217;s student wing Amir Hamza was on Monday remanded in police custody by a court here.
