{"id":206689,"date":"2022-12-10T01:37:42","date_gmt":"2022-12-09T20:07:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/?p=206689"},"modified":"2022-12-10T01:37:42","modified_gmt":"2022-12-09T20:07:42","slug":"cbi-files-chargesheet-in-appsc-question-paper-leak-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arunachaltimes.in\/index.php\/2022\/12\/10\/cbi-files-chargesheet-in-appsc-question-paper-leak-case\/","title":{"rendered":"CBI files chargesheet in APPSC question paper leak case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ITANAGAR, 9 Dec:<\/strong> The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against 10 accused persons in the district and sessions court in Yupia in the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission-conducted assistant engineer (civil) examination question paper leak case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The premier investigating agency filed the chargesheet on Thursday, sources in the state police department said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The case pertains to question paper leakage of the assistant engineer (civil) exam for 2021, conducted by the APSSC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CBI had taken over the investigation on 27 October this year after the state government recommended a probe by the agency.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The case was initially investigated by the capital police and later transferred to the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of the state police.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The paper leak incident came to light after one Gyamar Padung, a candidate of the examination, filed a police complaint before the Itanagar police station on 29 August, claiming that he suspected that the AE (civil) examination paper had been leaked.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">More than 400 candidates appeared in the examination held on 26 and 27 August this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The SIC had arrested 10 persons, including the APPSC&#8217;s deputy secretary-cum-controller of examination Taket Jerang.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">APPSC chairman Nipo Nabam had on 14 October resigned on moral grounds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The state government had also ordered probe into all exams conducted by the APPSC since 2014 by the SIC. The SIC has so far arrested 32 people in various cases.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The arrests were made following detailed interrogation and technical and financial analysis of the suspects. The SIC&#8217;s investigation into the paper leak matter is ongoing and all facts are being investigated in detail. All legal formalities and norms of professionalism are being maintained during the investigation,&#8221; SIC SP Anant Mittal said, adding that the SIC is committed to ensuring justice for the aggrieved candidates of various exams.
